At the KC Improv Training Center, we are committed to providing excellent instruction in the Improvisational arts to both Novice Improvisers and Veteran Performers alike. This page gives a breakdown of all the different types of classes and coaching options that we offer. From 8 week classes, to one time, drop-in classes every Saturday in Westport and Sunday in Leawood. We have what you’re looking for!

Classes are 8 weeks long and meet Mondays starting April 3rd and ending on May 22nd. All classes meet from 7-9pm at Trinity Lutheran Church – 5601 West 62nd Street Mission, KS 66202.
Every class gets to perform at the Kick Comedy Theater, and students get to see KC Improv Company shows FOR FREE!!! (see Training Center FAQ for exceptions).

Improv 101: Intro to Improv (Leawood, KS)
This course helps adults learn and explore the art of improvisational acting and comedy. Students will also benefit by improving their listening skills, confidence, team-building, trust, and collaboration skills. And they WILL have fun! Designed for Beginner improvisers and intermediate-level improvisers.
Classes will be each Sunday at 7pm to 9pm from April 2nd through May 28th.
Improv 101: Intro to Improv
This course helps adults learn and explore the art of improvisational acting and comedy. Students will also benefit by improving their listening skills, confidence, team-building, trust, and collaboration skills. And they WILL have fun!
Improv 201: Character
This course expands on the ideas introduced in Intro to Improv and emphasizes the use of character in improv. Completion of Intro to Improv is required (or pre-approval by the Education Director).
Improv 301: Scenework
This class is for improvisers who want to continue the fun of improv and improve their scenework. Completion of Character is required (or pre-approval by instructors).
Improv 401: Intro to Long-Form
This class is for intermediate improvisers who want to learn the basics of long-form improv. Completion of Scenework is required (or pre-approval by instructors).
Improv 501: Intermediate Long-Form
Students will continue to work on long-form formats while identifying personal goals and receiving specific feedback from their instructor. Completion of Improv 401 is required (or pre-approval by instructors). Students will also learn more advanced long-form techniques and long-form formats.
Improv 601: Advanced Long Form (requires audition)
Advanced Long Form uses the classic format The Harold to challenge improvisers interested in pursuing performance. Requires completion of Intermediate Long Form or approval from the Education Director to audition. Auditions scheduled for July 9th, 10am/3pm at the Kick Comedy Theater. Want to audition?

Saturday Drop-In Class (1pm) – Kick Comedy Theater
Improv Comedy class for all human beings $15 per class, or $60 for 5 classes.
This ongoing course is designed to help students of any level. Foster and other instructors help you learn and explore the art of improvisational acting and comedy and plan the classes to give each student what he or she needs to improve and become more confident in his or her play. If you’re not sure if you would like to sign up for an 8 week course, then this is the class for you.
Drop-in to play! Meets at the Kick Comedy Theater – Every Saturday at 1pm.
For troupes looking for expert coaching. $120 (for the whole group) per 2 hour rehearsal when you sign up for 4 sessions. $110 when you sign up for 8 sessions. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange coaching sessions.
