THE BUSINESS OF ACTING (All levels)
The purpose of this workshop is to introduce actors to the business side of being an actor. We will cover topics such as discovering your character type, headshots, resumes, agent/casting directors mailings, the interview process, signing with an agent, keeping track of your business progress, actors' taxes and the role of unions. The objective for this workshop is to educate and inform actors, who want to make acting a career, about the business side to being an actor. Actors have many options for acting technique but seem to be limited on the information on business side of the entertainment business. As someone who has had 10+ years working in the business, I can give an inside look to how you can become a successful, knowledgeable, prepared actor. After the completion of this workshop, the actor should have a full range of information to become a working actor in KC.
